Plan A Small Bathroom

Having a small bathroom in your home has several advantages. There is less floor to mop and less of an area to keep sanitized and clean when you have a small bathroom. Another advantage to having a small bathroom is that you make use of every available inch of space, creating as much storage as possible. Follow the guidelines in this article to learn make the most out of planning a small bathroom.

Instructions

1. Create storage space. One issue with having a small bathroom is where to keep those fluffy towels. You do not have to give up your luxurious fluffy towels just because you do not have extra space, you just need to get creative with the space you are given. If your bathroom does not have one already, install a space save cabinet or, if possible, a two-door cabinet under the sink. Store your towels in the cabinet. Do not clutter the space by cramming other bathroom necessities in with the towels.

2. Create counter space. If you do not have room on the counter or in drawers to keep your make up and other health and beauty products, purchase a storage cabinet with drawers. If your bathroom does not have the space to accommodate a storage unit of that size, just keep all of your items neatly in a tote bag and store elsewhere. However, it is more convenient to be able to keep all of your health and beauty items in the bathroom, there is no rule that states you must do so.

3. Create toilet space. The toilet area is a great place for extra storage due to the fact that there are so many styles of space saver units that fit right around your toilet area. You can even hang a set of pre-fab cabinets on the wall, right above the toilet. This is the area that you will keep toilet paper and such.

4. Create shower space. Shower caddies are great to keep shampoo and conditioner, soap and shaving items. Some shower caddies even come with a radio or CD player! In addition to shower caddies, you can also purchase shower storage units that adhere to the shower walls with suction cups. Such storage units are great for storing bath toys.

5. Create floor space. Baskets are wonderful for keeping things off of the floor and in an organized fashion. Use a basket to store towels or even dirty clothes. Baskets are also ideal to store lotions and soap on the bathroom counter, if you have the extra room.
