During the "LEGO Harry Potter" game for the Nintendo Wii, there are two modes of play, story mode and free play. Once you have completed all of Story Mode, you can explore the castle during Free Play and use the various characters you collect throughout the game to go into areas you couldn't before, such as the common rooms for the other houses. You must switch to one of the characters that is a member of the house you are trying to get into or you won't be allowed entrance.
Instructions
1. Come up the stairs leading to the common rooms and turn left. You will see a banner with the Slytherin colors next to a door. Head through this door and go down the stairs to the dungeons where the Slytherin Common Room is located. Turn left from the stairs to find the door to the common room.
2. Switch to one of the Slytherin characters; such as Draco Malfoy or the characters labeled Slytherin Girl and Slytherin Boy. Use the "C" button to cycle through your list of characters. Walk up to the door for the common room and press the "Z" button to gain admittance.
3. Exit the Sytherin common room and head back up the stairs to exit the Slytherin area. Turn right and continue down the hallway making your way past the Gryffindor common room. Continue walking until you see a banner with the Hufflepuff colors on them.
4. Use the Immobulus spell on the Cornish Pixi in front of the Hufflepuff door by using the "2" button to cycle through the spells and then "Z" to cast. When you immobilize it, it will drop a door knob for the door. Pick it up by pressing the "Z" button and putting it into place.
5. Use the levitation spell to spin the door knob to open it. Go through the door to enter the Hufflepuff area.
6. Turn right and then make a left to get to the door to the Hufflepuff common room. Cycle through your characters until you reach a Hufflepuff, such as Justin Finch-Fletchey or Susan Bones. Walk up to the door and press "Z" to gain entry.
7. Exit the Hufflepuff area and turn right to continue down the common room hallway. At the end of the hallway, you'll see a banner for the Ravenclaw area. Use the Riddikulus spell on the boggart you encounter in front of the entrance. The trunk it was in also has two pieces of the Ravenclaw banner you need to place on the gate. Use the levitation spell to put them in place. The gate will open automatically.
8. Enter through the gate and head up the stairs. Turn right and up the stairs on the side of the castle. Follow the stairs until you reach the door to the Ravenclaw common room.
9. Switch through your characters using the "2" button until you come across a Ravenclaw, such as Padma Patil or Ravenclaw Boy or Girl. Walk up to the door and press "Z" to gain entrance.
10. Exit out of the Ravenclaw area and head left down the Common Room hallway. Pass the Hufflepuff door and continue down until you reach the Gryffindor area. Walk up to the portrait of the Fat Lady and switch to either Harry, Ron or Hermione to gain entrance to the Gryffindor Common Room.
