Repair A Moen Bathroom Sink Faucet

Moen bathroom faucets can be repaired.

Moen faucets are built to last and come with excellent warranties, but the stem within the body of the faucet is not covered. With time and use, the washers and o-rings within the stem wear away, and this is a very common repair with any faucet. It's best to simply replace the stem rather than attempting to repair it. Any local hardware store will carry a replacement Moen stem.

Instructions

1. Turn off both the hot and cold shut-off valves beneath your bathroom sink.

2. Loosen the allen nut on your Moen bathroom faucet handle; you may have to remove the decorative Moen logo to access the nut. The handle will slip off as soon as this nut is loosened.

3. Remove the stem with a pair of pliers once the handle is off . Depending on the age of your Moen faucet, you may need a stem puller to remove the cartridge.

4. Insert your replacement Moen stem into the body of the faucet and set the handle back on, tightening the allen nut.

5. Open both of the shut-off valves and test your work.
