What Color Curtain Should I Get For A Red White And Black Bedroom Set

Bedroom sets done in a combination of red, white and black can seem stark to some. However, this color combination works well for those who favor Asian influences or modern design in their bedrooms. But while finding bedroom furniture, bedding and decorative items that fit into a red, white and black theme is relatively easy, it can be a bit of a struggle to find a set of curtains that work well with this color theme.

Black

While black curtains seem harsh and can actually make the room look smaller, they do have one main benefit. If you work nights and sleep during the day, or are a light sleeper roused by the smallest amount of sun, hanging black curtains blocks out a significant portion of the light from outside. If the room has an intentionally gothic feel, black curtains may be a design touch that actually works well from an aesthetic standpoint.

White

White curtains, when closed, make a room appear larger than it really is. They also help to brighten up the room, making more it more inviting to guests. However, bedrooms that have white walls and minimal decorations hanging on the walls may look stark and institutional when paired with closed white curtains.

Red

For a bedroom with white walls, a set of red curtains can make the room more suitable for setting the mood for romance and passion. If the walls are papered with black and white vertical stripes, red curtains can add a much needed splash of color.

Multiple Hues or Patterns

To tie the room together, look for curtains that incorporate at least two of the three main colors. If you can't find a pattern that incorporates multiple hues that you like, opt for a set of single-colored rod curtains topped with a valance of a different solid color. Adding ties in red, white or black can help to tie the look together.
