What Comforter Colors Are Good For A Master Bedroom

White is a neutral color that matches most master bedroom color schemes.

Comforters are typically displayed on the tops of beds. They should match the bedroom's overall color scheme; if not, the comforter sticks out like a sore thumb. Master bedrooms often have queen- or king-size beds, so the comforters are larger than those found in other bedrooms in the house. A variety of comforter colors are ideal for master bedrooms, though not all colors will match all master bedroom decorating styles.

White

White is a good comforter color for a master bedroom because it matches just about any color or decorating scheme. A solid white color is also a good way to tone down a complex wallpaper pattern or complex design elements and patterns; white is a simple color, so displaying it prominently on your bed simplifies the room. Your bedroom should be a place of comfort and relaxation, and white is a color that aligns with that philosophy. In Feng Shui design, white represents purity and poise; combine with gold or silver in the color scheme to create a Feng Shui calming design.

Blue and Brown

Choose a color for your master bedroom and comforter based on your personality. If you lean more toward modern style and contemporary colors, go with a chocolate brown, blue and tan color scheme. The comforter can be any of these colors. If your walls are blue and your bed frame is dark brown, choose a tan comforter. Similarly, if your walls are tan or brown, go with a blue comforter. The colors complement each other without one color becoming too overpowering in the overall room decor.

Green and Yellow

Natural, earthy tones are another choice for master bedroom comforters. The earthy tones match well with neutral colors like white and brown. Try a muted green or yellow color to match brown or white walls in your bedroom. Do not choose bright green or yellow, though; bright colors can be distracting, which is not a good quality for a bedroom color. If you get a green comforter, consider yellow bedding to match, or vice versa. These colors also match well with natural wood furniture and wood accents in the room.
