Checklist For Cleaning Bathroom

Making a checklist makes cleaning the bathroom more manageable.

Cleaning is one of those chores many people would rather avoid. A checklist can make an unpleasant task, like cleaning the bathroom, more manageable. Dividing the job into smaller sections that you can perform on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis helps make sure all the tasks are completed but also makes the task look less daunting. Making a checklist also makes it easier to divide the tasks among family members, sharing the responsibility so no one is burdened with the entire job.

Daily Cleaning

Every day you can complete a few simple cleaning tasks while you are brushing your teeth or getting out of the shower to keep the bathroom looking presentable between weekly cleanings. Keep a stack of clean rags in a bathroom drawer or under the sink to make it faster and easier to do quick cleaning jobs:

Wipe down the sink and faucet.

Wipe off the counter.

Spray the inside of the shower and shower curtain with a daily shower mist that prevents water spots.

Weekly

Perform the majority of bathroom cleaning weekly. Keeping the bathroom clean can help prevent the spread of germs and disease and make it presentable.

Clean and disinfect the toilet (inside and out) and sink.

Clean the mirror and faucet.

Scrub the inside of the shower or bathtub.

Wash the toothbrush holder and soap dish or dispenser.

Vacuum or sweep and mop the floor.

Empty and wipe down the trashcan.

Replace and wash towels.

Dust windowsills and molding.

Monthly

Deep cleaning takes place on a monthly basis. There aren't as many tasks to do monthly, but they are just as important to keep the bathroom tidy and germ-free.\

Wipe down the front of cabinets and drawers.

Clean and disinfect the trashcan.

Wash the floor mats and rugs.

Quarterly Cleaning

Every few months you need to do a really deep cleaning to keep the bathroom in a healthy, clean condition, which involves more than just wiping things down. Consider things like the inside of the medicine cabinet and the heating vents.

Launder the shower curtain and wipe down the curtain rod.

Wash the walls.

Wash the window curtains.

Vacuum the heating vent.

Clean out any expired medications or cosmetics.

Scrub the tile grout.

Yearly Cleaning

Perform time-consuming tasks and those that are not related to keeping the bathroom sanitary once a year. These are usually considered spring cleaning tasks.

Wash windows.

Replace floor mats, rugs or curtains that are stained or worn.

Re-seal tile grout.
