Bedroom Design Ideas For A Teenager

Teenager

There are a variety of ways to design a bedroom for a teenager, but when it comes down to it, it is up to the teenager to decide what she truly wants in her bedroom. These ideas are starting points for you to discuss with your teenager. Teenagers can be very opinionated about what they want, so start the conversation with these design ideas and you may find your teen is easier to please than you thought.

Ocean Room

A teenager who loves the ocean will love to come home to it every day. To create an ocean room, paint the walls in a lovely blue. If you have any painting talent, then consider drawing waves and a sunrise or sunset, or you might want to paint the ceiling yellow to mimic the sun. Use an old surfboard as your teenager's headboard or hang some surfboards on the walls. Use items such as sea shells and place them in decorative display boxes or on shelves. Your teen is sure to love a bedroom that brings him to the ocean every morning and every evening.

Game Room

It's no secret that teenagers love gaming, so why not give in and create a gaming room that he will not only love, but will be the envy of all of his friends. Get some old, comfortable pub-style chairs to place in front of the television. The television does not need to be huge, but big enough for him and his friends to play games. Set up an entertainment center with surround sound, different gaming systems and a stereo. Don't forget about other games as well. If you trust him, then get him a dart board. If the room is big enough, consider a pool table, air hockey table or foosball table. Your teenager may never leave his bedroom.

Modern Princess

Your little girl is almost all grown up, but that does not mean she has left her inner princess behind. It is possible to create a modern and grown-up bedroom that makes her feel like a princess. Start with the walls and use darker hues like deep reds, purples and yellows rather than pink. Get her a canopy bed and drape it with matching scarves. Create a little corner of the room where she can go to escape. Use a big comfortable chair and some throw pillows, so she can sit and gossip with her friends. Creating a modern princess room is easy, and your little princess will love you for it.
