Paint A Little Girls Bedroom

Consult your child's personal style and favorite colors when painting her room.

Little girls love rooms that express their personality and their individuality, and few things will do this better than the paint and decorations in their room. Paint can have a huge impact on the look and feel of a room with minimal effort, so get your child involved in the process of planning their room colors and designs, and be creative!

Instructions

1. Play with color ideas based on your child's favorite colors or colors that are considered "girly", such as pink and pastel greens, blues, and purples.

2. Paint the room in fun designs, such as a striped pattern. Use masking tape to separate sections of wall from one another and to keep your lines straight, and paint complimentary colors in striped patterns. Be sure that the painted stripe has dried before applying new masking tape to it to paint another section.

3. Experiment with stencils. Place stencils on the walls of things she enjoys, such as unicorns or hearts. Hold the stencils up to the wall while you fill the center with paint for an instant fun look. You can also use circular stencils to add polka dots all over the room.

4. Use paint sponges. Sponges can be used to create sponged borders or to add texture to a wall. For borders, use a color different, but complimentary, from the wall color and dip the sponge in it. Gently shake off the excess paint from the sponge and use a light touch to apply the paint around a baseboard or near the ceiling. Alternatively, use the sponge all over the walls with a similar color. To do this, paint the walls in a solid color, such as light pink. When the paint has dried, apply a darker pink all over the walls with the sponge to add depth and interest to the walls.
