1. Incorporate the color scheme on the walls to create a backdrop for the room. Because black and red are bold colors, painting all of the walls one of these colors closes in the space; instead, paint a focal wall red or black and paint the remaining walls white. Another idea is to cover a focal wall with paper that features a pattern in red, black and white and paint the remaining walls white.
2. Furnish the bedroom. For a modern look, use lacquered pieces that are all red, black or white. To create a romantic look for your bedroom, use wooden pieces that feature decorative carvings and are painted white and a large upholstered headboard covered with red fabric. Create a seating area with a red or black crushed velvet settee or a white-brushed cotton armchair.
3. Include linens that feature the red, black and white color scheme. Use a comforter made of luxurious fabric, such as velvet or satin, in red, black or white. Dress the bed with a white lace bedspread. Another option is to use a comforter that features a pattern in the color scheme. Cover the windows with floor-to-ceiling black, white or red drapes for a regal look. To create a lighter, softer feeling, hang white sheers on the windows.
4. Complete the look of the room with decorative accents. Display black and white pictures in red frames or a red splatter painting on a white canvas in a black frame. Fill a white or black vase with a bouquet of red roses. Illuminate the space with black or white lamps topped with red shades. Set out clear bowls filled with decorative red marbles. Create an arrangement of red, black and white pillar candles on a decorative tray.
