Decorate Your Bedroom White And Green

While we don't always stop to consider it, our bedrooms are retreats from the rest of the world. With this in mind, it's a good idea to decorate them with colors that have a calming effect. If your bedroom has green walls or flooring, you're already ahead of the game because green is a color that aids in relaxation. There are many shades of green, ranging from the lightest mint green to the richest pine green, and they all contrast well with white. With these two colors, you can create a bedroom that is calm and cool.

Instructions

1. Choose a style that attracts you for your bedroom, anything from shabby chic to contemporary. This will help you decide on the type of fabrics, furniture and accessories to use as well as choose a particular shade of green.

2. Use white furniture to brighten the room. Depending on the style you chose, you could go with modern or distressed furniture. A white iron post bed could be a good addition. A white chaise chair with a fabric pattern that includes the shade of green on the walls will unify the room.

3. Paint trim white for contrast. Whether your walls are mint green or forest green, white trim will really pop and it will create a sense of harmony with the other white accessories you use.

4. Choose flooring that complements your style. If you chose a relaxed country or rustic style for your room, you might add a woven rug with green and white in the pattern. For a more contemporary look, an area rug with blocks of color, including green, will make the room feel complete.

5. Use fabric with a green and white pattern to add interest to your bedroom. If you are going with a French country style, a floral green and white bedspread paired with window treatments with a green-and-white-checked pattern will create a cozy mood in your bedroom. If you are going with a more formal look, try a green and white brocade fabric or toile for a pleasing effect.

6. Incorporate a complementary color that will add contrast. Feature a bold red or a bright yellow in small amounts in accessories, such as a vase, lamp base or candle display.
