Lighting For Children'S Bedrooms

An older child may like a brightly colored desk lamp.

The lighting needs of children will vary, depending upon their ages. However, whatever light fixtures you select should in some way fit your children's tastes as well as their lighting needs.

Potential

The bedroom is going to come outfitted with an overhead light already; however, there are other possibilities. In addition to a bedside lamp for those nights when you read to your child, very young children often like the security of a night light. Both lamps and night lights come in cute kid styles like Toy Story or Star Wars.

Assessment

As you are considering the types of lighting you want to bring into your kids' room, think about how they will use the space. If the children are older, they may need a desk with its own lamp.

Decor Styles

While lighting is functional, it also plays a key role in the room's decorating scheme. As your kids get older, they'll have some definite ideas about the styles of lighting they'll want to feature in their rooms. This should be taken into consideration as well.
