Diy Restroom Sign For An Outdoor Wedding

Dress up boring restroom signs by making them part of your wedding decor.

Deciding on an outdoor wedding comes with a number of natural perks like endless, vibrant decor by Mother Nature. But as aesthetically pleasing as the outdoors may be, sometimes more logistical concerns, like restrooms, require additional thought and creativity on the part of the bride and groom. Many outdoor venues have poorly labeled and hard to find restrooms -- or, in some cases, no restrooms at all. Direct your guests to right place by making functional signs that tie into your wedding decor.

Instructions

1. If your venue does not have restrooms and you want to keep the porta-potty hidden or direct guests to indoor bathrooms, create a handwritten sign post out of worn wood pieces. Angle one side of a short rectangular piece of wood to create an arrow. Nail the arrow to the post pointing in the direction of the bathroom and paint "Restrooms" on the signpost.

2. To help guests recognize which bathroom is which on unmarked doors, post a framed picture of the bride and bridesmaids on the ladies' room and the groom and groomsmen on the men's room.

3. Add creative shapes to the door to cover boring bathroom signs. Make wood or fabric appliques to hang on the bathroom doors. Cut one sign into the shape of a neck tie or bow tie and the other into a high heel. Use tacks or small nails to stick them to the doors.

4. Have your florist make a hanging wedding bouquet. Hang it from the doorknob of one bathroom and a tie a necktie around the doorknob of the other.

5. Secure strings of satin ribbon to the door with thumb tacks or small nails. Use clothespins to suspend embroidered his and hers towels from the ribbon. For a more rustic look, replace the ribbon with yarn or rope and suspend cardboard cutouts labeled "His" and "Hers."
