Simple Bathroom Cleaning Checklist

Remember to clean everything when you use a bathroom cleaning checklist.

Cleaning the bathroom is not the most pleasant job, but it is a necessary one. Having a good checklist for cleaning helps you gather all of your materials instead of running from room to room. This makes the cleaning process faster. It also ensures that you don't miss an important aspect of cleaning the bathroom.

Gather the Materials

An old toothbrush is ideal for cleaning in small spaces.

The first part of the bathroom cleaning checklist is gathering the materials. Make sure you have appropriate tools and cleaning supplies on hand.

Cleaning supplies might include commercial cleaners or simple household cleaners like vinegar and baking soda. Find one abrasive cleaner for tough stains and a window or glass cleaner for sliding tub doors and mirrors.

You will also need a scrub brush---or two---to use with stains such as bathtub rings. An old toothbrush works well for small areas. Make sure you have a toilet brush for the toilet. Gather rags or cleaning cloths to wipe off surfaces after cleaning them.

Spray and Scrub Every Surface

Remember to scrub behind the toilet.

Each surface in the bathroom should be scrubbed first to remove stains. Spray the bathtub, bathtub surround, toilet seat and toilet, counters, mirrors and shelves. Let the cleaner set for a few minutes, then scrub off stubborn stains. Use a toothbrush to get into the cracks around the faucets. Remember to look behind the toilet and the towels and in the corners of the bathtub.

Wash and Dry Each Surface

Use a cloth to polish surfaces if you want them to shine.

After you have scrubbed each surface, wash the surface with plain water to remove any chemical residues. Dry it with a clean cloth or let it air dry. Use a cloth to polish the surface if you want it to shine.

Clean the Bathroom Floor

Scrub the floor clean.

Once you have finished cleaning all surfaces in the bathroom, it is time to clean the floor. Wash it with a mixture or soap or floor cleaner and water. Scrub the tough stains, then pat it dry or allow it to air dry.
