Turn a loft space into a comfortable bedroom.
Take advantage of an unused upstairs loft space and transform it into a bedroom. Traditionally, upstairs lofts offer open and airy space, which can be a challenge to contend with when transforming the space into a bedroom. With furnishings, linens and decorative accessories, work with the open space and turn your upstairs loft space into a tranquil bedroom where you can enjoy relaxation and restful sleep.
Instructions
1. Create privacy for the space. Set up shoji screens around the open perimeter of the space to block the view into the space from prying eyes. Alternatively, install curtain rods on the upper portion of the walls and hang an opaque curtain to create privacy. Both options can be easily opened and closed to allow a view to be seen, or to close off the space.
2. Cover the floor with an area rug. Select a plush area rug to provide comfort underfoot. Pick a rug that features a color or design that you admire.

4. Furnish the space with traditional bedroom pieces, including a bed, dressers and night stands. Select furniture that speaks to your style. Arrange the items in a fashion that pleases you and allows for ease of use.
5. Cover any windows with draperies. While windows allow light to flow into the loft area, they can detract from privacy. Select draperies that coordinate with your taste and are easy to open and close.
6. Add lighting to the loft. Hang sconces on the walls on either side of the bed. Place floor lamps on the floor to create an upward lighting effect. Place table lamps on dressers and bedside tables.
7. Complete the transformation with
