Double vanities and double sinks can increase both the visual appeal and function of the bathroom design. As bathrooms get more use than ever before, more couples are deciding to install double-basin vanities and sinks. Installing double sinks in the bathroom design also helps keep the bathroom organized if each spouse has an assigned sink.
Instructions
1. Measure the area where the sinks will need to be installed. Each sink will need a minimum of 20 inches by itself to sit in, measuring outward 10 inches on each side from the center line of the sink.
2. Attach the sinks to their base. If this is a vanity installation, the counter top should be installed first, and the sinks attached with a bead of adhesive and the provided installation clips.
Pedestal and wall-hung sinks should be attached to the wall by drilling into a stud and using a screwdriver to anchor them into place.
3. Hook up the sink drains by first setting the faucets in place and dropping the drain tail pipes for the faucets into the sinks. Pop-up drains will have a collar that will sit around the edge of the drain, on top of a provided piece of foam. Press hard on the collar to seat it in the foam when placing the drain tail pipe in the sink.
4. Attach the faucet's pop-up rod to the tail pipe of the drain by inserting the rod through the hole provided on the flat end of the drain pipe's extension.
5. Attach the drain to the waste pipe by screwing it into place, and hook up the waste pipe at the wall, tightening the entire assembly with the pipe wrench. Run water into the sink to test the connection and check for leaks.
