Dye A Bedroom Carpet Darker

Dying your carpet rather than replacing it can save hundreds of dollars.

Making the decision to dye your bedroom carpet could end up saving you hundreds of dollars. Replacing a carpet can be both costly and time consuming. While dyeing can also pose its share of problems, choosing a color darker than the carpet you currently have will eliminate most of them.

Instructions

1. Remove all furniture and accessories from your bedroom floor.

2. Clean your carpet thoroughly before you begin, to avoid uneven color distribution. Allow time to dry before applying dye.

3. Purchase a professional looking carpet dye from a flooring or hardware store.

4. Rent a carpet shampooing machine with nylon bristles that can also be used to dye carpets.

5. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for use and apply carpet dye on a sample piece of carpet. Move the machine in an even motion, similar to mowing your lawn.

6. When you are happy with the color distribution, apply it on your bedroom carpet.
