Make Vinegar Bathroom Cleaner

Keep your bathroom clean with vinegar.

Staying within a budget is not always easy. Some expenses, though, such as cleaning supplies, can be cut significantly if you make your own cleaners at home. Vinegar, for example, is an excellent household cleaner, and it is available in large bottles at a more economic per ounce cost than smaller bottles. Making cleaners with vinegar for your bathroom also requires little effort.

Instructions

1. Pour pure white vinegar in a spray bottle and use it as a general cleaner to clean most areas of your bathroom, including the sink, tiles, shower door and tub. After spraying, use a rag to wipe the areas clean. You can also spray it on grout, let it soak in for several minutes and use a scrub brush or old toothbrush to remove mildew.

2. Add 1 tsp. salt per 1 cup white vinegar to the spray bottle and shake until the salt dissolves. This, too, makes a suitable bathroom cleaner, according to the Michigan State University Extension Office.

3. Mix 1 cup white vinegar and 1/2 cup baking soda in a plastic bag, such as one used to store food, making sure to mix the two over the tub in case of spills. Then tie it to the shower head so the shower head is soaking in the cleaning solution for an hour or so. This removes soap scum, according to VinegarTips.com.

4. Combine white vinegar and baking soda to make a paste. Use this cleaner to get rid of soap scum and hard water stains in your tub, shower and sink.
