Clean Your Bedroom In 5 Minutes

Put away your clothes to keep your bedroom tidy.

Even with a busy schedule, you can keep your bedroom in tiptop shape all the time. It only takes about five minutes each weekday to tidy up before you head out the door. What a pleasure it is to come home after a hard day at work to a clean, relaxing room.

Instructions

1. Make your bed. When your bed is made, the room feels neater and cleaner. As soon as you get out of bed, turn around and make it. If your spouse is still in the bed, delegate this job to the person who gets up last. Pull the sheets tight, fluff the pillows and straighten the spread, and you will look forward to going to bed each night. Save changing the linens for the weekend.

2. Clean off the nightstands. Assign a basket or drawer for books and magazines to keep them off the top of the nightstand. Pick up and throw away tissues or other trash. Take any dirty dishes or glasses to the kitchen and put in the dishwasher.

3. Declutter the tops of any dressers. A decorative vase and picture is really all you need. Place a small basket or dish for the little extras that you take from your pockets or for your jewelry. Empty it on the weekend when you do a thorough cleaning.

4. Pick up any clothes. Toss dirties into a nearby hamper. Train yourself and your spouse to hang up your clothes when you take them off and place your shoes on racks or shelves as soon as they come off your feet.

5. Keep a can of room freshening spray handy. Spritz or spray your bedroom just before leaving, and you will encounter a fresh, clean scent when you come home.

6. Once a week, dust, wash the mirrors, change the linens and vacuum. Carry the clothes hamper to the laundry room. When you keep your room neat and organized through the week, you will find these tasks go quickly.
