Goth Bedroom Ideas

Goth Bedroom Ideas

Marked by their medieval nature and style, goth bedrooms appeal to the dark creature in all of us. It's easy to create a goth look in your bedroom with a few simple tips.

Color

When you think of a goth bedroom, the color black immediately comes to mind. But black alone does not make a goth bedroom. Red and gray should be included in a goth bedroom to make use of rich tones and romantic hues. Walls can be painted black or gray, while using red as an accent color for bedding, curtains and rugs.

Furniture

Furniture for a goth bedroom should be stylish and intricate. There should be plenty of ornate detail work on the bed and shelving. Furniture should be made of wood or iron to give the room a medieval appeal. Large dark wooden or iron headboards with intricate designs are perfect for the bed. If the bed has four posts, consider draping sheer white or red material from the posts to create a netting or canopy effect for the bed.

Bedside tables can have a glass top with an ornate iron base or they can be made from wood with decorative elements, such as skulls or swirls carved into the legs.

Accessories

Accessories are an important part of any goth bedroom. Place candle stands, complete with candles around the room for a romantic goth effect and additional lighting. If you hang a mirror in the room, it should be placed in an ornate frame to match the rest of the furniture. A few gargoyles sitting around the room will give the room a truly gothic feel.

Skulls

No goth bedroom would be complete without a skull or two. Display a decorative skull on the night stand or decorate with items such as a skull jewelry box or a skull lamp. You might even be able to find a mirror frame with skull in etched into the design.
