Tips On Cleaning Dorm Bathrooms

Even with daily cleaning services, dorm bathrooms can be very dirty for many students, especially when they are not used to sharing a bathroom with dozens of other students. If you find that your dorm bathroom is not up to par and want to get it clean, you may want to use these tips on a weekend morning when traffic is slow.

Instructions

1. Pick a time when no one else will be using the dorm bathroom. Most students share with at least one other student, if not a whole floor of students. If there are other bathrooms on the floor, hang a do-not-disturb sign.

2. Take everything out of the bathroom. Spray every surface with Lysol bathroom cleaner. Also apply toilet cleaner to the inside of the toilet. Spray down the outside of the toilet with the Lysol cleaner. Allow the cleaner to sit for 15 minutes.

3. Start from the back corner of the bathroom, and begin wiping down the surfaces of the bathroom, working your way toward the door. This includes the outside and inside of the toilet and the sink. Clean the floor in the same manner, as mops tend to push the dirt into the corner instead of cleaning it up.

4. Use the Soft Scrub cleaner once the first pass of the bathroom is done. Deposit it on any stained or heavily soiled areas. This includes the floor of the shower, and any stained tile or grout. Use the scrub brush to work the cleanser into the dirt and stains until the stains are faded. Rinse the stains. Dry the area with your rags and paper towels.
