Diy Kid'S Disney Bedrooms

The one space that kids have to call their own is their bedroom. It's where kids sleep, play and study, and should reflect their interests and favorite things. Disney is the perfect inspiration for a magical, colorful child's bedroom, and you do not need to buy a prepackaged bedding set to add some of the wonder to your kid's room. By incorporating some of your child's favorite Disney elements and adding touches of whimsy to items already in the room, you can create a space your kids will love.

Disney Princess

If you have a daughter, chances are she's crazy about at least one of the Disney princesses. Make your little girl a castle of her own by adding a few simple touches to her room. Buy solid colored bedding in one of the shades from the gown of her favorite character, and add a lot of coordinating throw pillows to give her bed a lofty appearance. Search discount stores for mosquito netting that you can hang above her bed to make it more grand, and use hot glue and rhinestones to add a little sparkle to the netting. White furniture is a sure bet in a little girl's room, and you can easily paint wooden furniture to lighten up the space. You can also add ornate details to plain furniture by gluing on decorative wooden pieces found at the hardware store. Paint details in silver or gold to add majesty to the furniture, and finish off the look by painting a large tiara, topped with large rhinestone accents, onto a focal wall.

Mickey Mania

If your preschooler is nuts about Mickey Mouse, you can easily add a touch of the Big Cheese to a primary-themed room. Again, buy bedding in bold, solid colors so you are not limited by printed characters when your little one changes favorites in a few months. Make pillows to represent Mickey's clothing. For example, a square red pillow with two large yellow buttons can symbolize Mickey's shorts, and a white, hand-shaped pillow represents his gloves. Buy a large Mickey Mouse plush doll to sit on the bed among the other pillows. You can easily add Mickey ears to the walls in bright colors by using two sizes of circle stencils to create the iconic image.

Finding Nemo

Turn your child's room into an underwater haven fit for the rebellious clown fish by painting the walls light blue. Use acrylic craft paint, along with stencils or an overhead projector to help you outline images, to add the lovable characters from the movie to your kid's walls. You can use each wall to tell a different part of the story or simply create one, cohesive underwater world. Pair coordinating bedding with cuddly plush fish, crabs and sea turtles to create a bed that feels like it could actually be the sea bed, and add a real aquarium to bring the sights and sounds of water to the room.
