Decorate A Safari Bedroom

A safari bedroom is a fun theme for decorating.

Decorating a bedroom in safari decor is an interesting and versatile choice for almost any home. Warm colors and funky prints give the room interest while still maintaining a put-together look that anyone would like to come home to. Another great thing about the safari theme is that it's appropriate for all age groups---you can create a fun and stimulating space for your children by incorporating African wildlife and bright colors, or you can give the room a more sophisticated, grown-up feel by using exotic accents and luxurious fabrics.

Instructions

1. There are several options for wall paint when decorating a room with a safari theme---warm tones like deep reds, rustic oranges, browns and golds are great for the safari feel, or you could even choose a neutral if you plan on using lots of color in the rest of the room. If you're decorating a safari room for a child, consider painting a mural with tall trees, grass and animals to make the room more fun and interesting.

2. Choose an animal-print comforter. Zebra print looks great because black and white can flow with almost anything. Once you've chosen a print, you can even mix them by using a different print in throw pillows, rugs and blankets as long as they stay within the color palette of the room.

3. Hang bamboo blinds with neutral window treatments. Bamboo blinds will give the room a safari feel, but they're versatile if you decide to redecorate. Neutral window treatments are a practical choice because they can get quite expensive, so you don't want to have to change too much if you get tired of the safari theme.

4. Incorporate lots of foliage into the room. Artificial or real plants will work for this idea, although artificial plants last longer and require less maintenance. You can even hang strings of leaves along the ceiling in a draping fashion, which will enhance the safari theme and add whimsy to the room.
