Paint A Contemporary Bedroom

There are several ways to create a contemporary bedroom.

A contemporary bedroom is the perfect retreat when you need a place to re-energize after a busy day. This bedroom style calls for crisp and clean design with minimal accessories. The first step in creating a contemporary bedroom is to think of a color that appeals to you. Think of your personality and which colors reflect the real you. Contemporary style doesn't mean stark white walls. You can use vivid shades of paint on the walls and still have the contemporary bedroom of your dreams.

Instructions

1. Create calm in your bedroom by painting walls with colors associated with nature. Opt for paint in sky blue, cool grays, shades of green, or camel brown.

2. Paint each wall a separate color if you want a multicolored look. For example, fuchsia, black, and white makes a gorgeous color scheme for a contemporary bedroom. Or another color scheme to try is yellow, black, and gray.

3. Paint one wall with a bold hue and use a light color on the other walls. A yellow or sapphire wall looks great and stands out when you paint the rest of the walls in a neutral color such as tan or white.

4. Paint walls in muted hues if you want to give your walls a soft look. Opt for colors like soft taupe, light shades of chocolate, beige, and cream. You can add drama to these soft colors by using wild colored accessories if you like.

5. Paint the ceiling and walls with white paint that has soft shades of rose. White creates an airy look that feels relaxing and clean. Use accessories with textures to give the room a sense of depth.

6. Use stencils to paint clean geometric shapes such as triangles, circles or squares on the walls if you want to be creative. These blocks of color add style to your walls. Paint squares red, blue, yellow, or green so they stand out if you have a neutral color on the walls. The designs that you paint on the wall don't necessary have to be a certain distance apart so don't worry about that.

7. Go gray. Paint one or two walls gray. Use two or more paint colors on the walls that will make this color pop. Wall colors that look great with gray include yellow, green, red, and blue.
