Paint A Bedroom Silver

Choosing to paint your bedroom silver is an excellent way to give the room a fresh, contemporary look that will make a statement. There is no need to hire a professional; if you are willing to do your own shopping and get dirty, you can make your room your own by yourself. Silver paints such as Ralph Lauren Regent Metallics are available at your local hardware or paint stores in varying depths of lightness and darkness, so you can choose which one is right for you.

Instructions

Preparing the Room

1. Remove all furniture and decorations from the room.

2. Lay the dropcloth on the floor, making sure the floor is completely protected.

3. Use the painter's tape to outline the edges of the area that will be painted, taping off baseboards, trim and molding. Also tape off or remove switchplates and socket covers.

Priming the Walls

4. Use the small roller or brush to apply primer to the corners and edges along the painter's tape.

5. Use the large roller to apply primer to the rest of the walls in an overlapping V-shape.

6. Apply a second coat of primer if necessary to create an evenly primed surface.

7. Let the primer dry completely.
