Get A Cool Girl'S Bedroom

Your bedroom is your own personal space---a private retreat for you to enjoy and do anything you please. The decoration of your bedroom should reflect your personality. It's easy to decorate it to reflect your trendiness and personal style. Arrange the room so that it is both functional and pleasing to the eye. Make over your room with anything you please because, after all, it is your room and it should be as cool as you are.

Instructions

1. Decide on a theme for your room. This can be anything from your favorite hobby or pastime to your favorite animal or flower. For instance, you can choose a new puppy as your inspiration or the school you attend, making your room a spirit room. Add objects or use decorations with your chosen theme.

2. Paint your room a new color. Be sure to check with paint stores for paint that has been returned but is still usable. You will receive a discounted price for great quality in exchange for giving up your right to choose any color that you want.

3. Paint one wall a contrasting color. This breaks up the monotony of looking at the same color.

4. Use stencils to hand-paint your decorations. You can purchase them at almost any craft store or online. Or check out wall murals; you can get these ready to apply to walls. If you are a good artist, consider painting your own design on the walls and show off your artistic talent.

5. Purchase new bedding. A solid color is your best bet because, if you decide to change things again in the future, you can match it to any new items without having to spend more money on new bedding.

6. Discard old items that you no longer need, want or use. A cluttered room appears smaller than it actually is, so gather up any old toys, stuffed animals, clothes, shoes or furniture that you no longer want and donate them to your local Salvation Army or charity of your choice.

7. Replace your regular light bulb with a colored bulb. This will really change the look of your room and turn it into a special place.

8. Paint your furniture. This will make it seem as though you have replaced your furniture with new pieces, when you have really only changed the look of what you already had.
