Bedroom sitting areas are great places to get away from the hubbub of family life.
Bedrooms are for rest and romance, according to home stagers. That works well when selling the house, but not always in day-to-day living. If you have a large enough bedroom to include a sitting area, you know the bedroom can also be a place to escape to when family life gets a little too hectic.
One Chair
For a bedroom with a smaller footprint, try squeezing in one chair on the other side of a small nightstand so both the bed and chair can share the light. Go for a smaller-framed chair like a petite rocker or a garden-style wicker chair with a seat pad and a pillow.
Chaise Longue and a Side Table
If there is enough room, replacing the single chair with a chaise lounge is the epitome of decadent relaxing. A well-placed pillow and throw complete the luxurious feel. (Bring on the chocolates.) If a chaise fits elsewhere in the room, in a corner perhaps, add a small table to lay your book on and a floor lamp behind to give good light for reading.
Two Chairs and an End Table
In a little larger space, pairing two chairs with a (preferably round) end table in between creates a cozy space for mom and dad to unwind after getting the kids to bed. Suspending a lighting fixture from the ceiling or adding a swag lamp saves table space.

A love seat with a coffee table in front creates a great place for a couple to catch up with the day's events. If there's room for a chair placed perpendicular to the love seat, they can look into each other's eyes while they talk to .
Bistro Set
People who enjoy reading the morning paper over a cup of coffee and a croissant in their bedroom might prefer to have a 30 to 48-inch round table and two dining chairs in their sitting area. If there are two people, the larger table is better for both to lay out their newspapers.
