Just head to a garage sale or a thrift store & pick up pieces with curvy lines. They don't have to be in perfect shape because you will refinish them. The chairs don't even have to match the table. You can refinish a hutch in a totally different color. If your table has a wood top, just paint the legs & the chairs leaving the top for a trendy look.


3. Stick with classic Country French colors. The color palette tends to be bright without being neon. There are even some French Country dining rooms that are done in monotone creams & greens. Stay away from dark or depressing colors so your room will feel light & airy.

You can probably find them in the clearance section because there just isn't a lot of demand for floral or checked curtains anymore.


6. Pattern is back, at least if you want a French Country dining room. This is one of the few styles that frequently uses wallpaper. Just make sure that your paper is big & bold. This will give it a modern feel & won't date the room. Also make sure that your walls are primed properly for wallpaper so you can easily take it down if you need to neutralize your room later on.
