Girls who like princess themes might like a princess-themed room.
Princesses are a perennial favorite of little girls across the United States. If your daughter wants a princess-themed bedroom, there are many ways to go about it. Don't limit yourself only to pink, even if many of the ideas available for such a bedroom come in pink shades. From princess furniture to princess decor, there are many ways to make a girl's room her castle.
Wall Murals
Re-create the look of an expansive, romantic, countryside vista with a large wall mural. There are two ways that you can go about making your mural. First, you can have it painted on the wall. If you don't want to hire an artist to come in and create the scene, you can use a projector to place an image on the wall, outline it with a pencil and then paint the scene in a paint by numbers style project.
Specialty Beds
There are many different ways to give a bed a princess theme. A bed shaped like the coach from Cinderella will appeal to girls who love the Disney princesses, while a castle can appeal to a more general princess theme. If you want the bed to seem fit for a princess, as in the type of bed a princess might sleep in, try a four poster bed with a flowing canopy. If you want a less expensive solution, try a canopy mounted to the ceiling. A multitude of pillows can make the bed seem even more luxurious.
Princess Accessories
From clocks shaped like castles to light switch plates shaped like crowns, there are plenty of little details you can use in a girl's room to make it feel like a princess room. Not every item needs to have an overtly princess theme. Instead, trim lamp shades and drapes with beaded tassels and colorful ribbons. Make a flag for the door of the room with the word "Princess" in front of the girl's name.
