Use Navy Blue & Burgundy In A Bedroom

Transform a neutral bedroom to a place of sophistication with navy and burgundy colors.

But before you rush off to get that burgundy accessory, stick around long enough to learn use navy blue and burgundy in a bedroom. Many variations and techniques exist for mixing burgundy with navy blue. Instructions


1. Paint the walls of your room. Stripe thin, vertical burgundy lines onto a solid navy blue wall, like your favorite pin-striped suit. Or divide the room in thirds horizontally, and paint the bottom portion of the room navy, the top third of the room burgundy and run border wallpaper containing both colors at the intersection point.


2. Change the bedding. Purchase a print with both colors for your bedspread and sheet set. Coordinate a solid navy or burgundy sheet set to a patterned bedspead. Mix a striped sheet to a solid burgundy or navy comforter.


3. Add a curtain to the window. Select solid navy or burgundy, and place it from the ceiling to the floor. Choose a mixed-striped fabric containing both colors.








4. Design the room all in one color--burgundy or navy blue--and accent with the alternating color. Add touches of the alternating color in a picture frame, a flower vase and a throw pillow.


5. Hang a picture on the wall that contains navy blue and burgundy colors. Run a rope-string light or choose a colored light bulb for the bedside table lamps. Place a burgundy tapered candle into a navy blue holder and put it on top of the bedside tables.
