Use Yellow Paint In Dining Rooms

Create an inviting atmosphere in your dining room with yellow paint. Yellow paint is available in a variety of shades. Warm hues of yellow help stimulate the appetite and encourage communication, which is ideal for a dining room. Brighter yellows tend to make people eat their food quicker. High-gloss paint adds sophistication to a formal dining room, while flat finish paint is more casual. No matter what style you choose, yellow paint will contribute to a warm and friendly environment, perfect for entertaining.

Instructions

1. Preview paint colors using online color selection tools to find the perfect shade of yellow.

2. Purchase sample paint colors and apply them to a dining room wall to compare color hues in natural light.

3. Clean walls and woodwork by mixing a solution of half vinegar and half water. Use a cotton towel to apply.

4. Patch any cracks and holes on the wall with the spackling paste.

5. Sand spots on the wall to smooth away ridges.

6. Tape the edges of the ceiling and woodwork with painter's tape.

7. Cover the floor with a painter's canvas drop cloth.

8. Paint the ceiling first. White flat finish paint on the ceiling will open up the room and contrast beautifully with yellow walls.

9. Paint the woodwork with your preference of white semi-gloss or high-gloss paint.

10. Use a brush to apply the yellow paint to the edge of the walls, then use a paint roller to cover the remaining space.
