Naturally Get Rid Of Ants In The Bathroom

Get rid of ants in your bathroom.

Ants can be a frustrating pest, especially when they are found inside your home. If the ant problem is in your bathroom, it may seem harder to resolve, as you might not easily find the nest. Pesticides can help you end the ant infestation, but they are also toxic to children, pets and the environment. For a safer solution, use natural ways to get rid of ants in your bathroom.

Instructions

1. Remove food and water the ants could be ingesting. Dry the water on the sink, shower and tub with a towel. Put the toilet seat lid down. Close containers for lotions, conditioner, toothpaste and soaps. Remove bar soaps or place them in a closed decorative box. Clean off spilled products such as toothpaste, lotion and shampoo.

2. Clean the whole bathroom with ammonia cleaner. Clean the floor, counter, shower, tub, toilet and all surfaces; the ammonia scent will essentially prevent the ants from being able to smell. Use soapy water to rinse off all surfaces if you like.

3. Seal all entry points with petroleum jelly, such as holes in the wall of any other place the ants could be coming from. Spread a little petroleum jelly all over the entrance with your finger.

4. Put a few drops of citrus oil or boric acid, or a dash of cayenne pepper or red chili powder in possible entry points, such as holes in the wall, to keep the ants away.

5. Mix 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and 1/2 cup of borax. Sprinkle on all the surfaces the ants walk. Or, put the mixture in opened bottles to maintain cleanliness.

6. Spritz the ants you see with a spray bottle filled with soapy water.
