Paint My Bedroom In Nfl Colors

Football fans can paint their rooms in the colors of their favorite NFL teams.

If you're a die-hard football fan, you would probably love a bedroom painted in your favorite NFL team's colors. Imagine the disappointment of a Steelers fan, though, if the gold looked like a pale yellow or of a Cowboys fan if the metallic silver were just a dull gray. Getting the exact colors is a priority. Fortunately, it's not hard to do that. You can take an official licensed team item, such as a hoodie, to any home-improvement store with a computerized paint-matching system. The paint clerk can scan the color and duplicate it in paint. In addition, you can find Glidden paints in official NFL colors at Home Depot, which has a licensing agreement with the NFL.

Instructions

1. Obtain your NFL colors at the paint or home-improvement store of your choice.

2. Remove outlet covers and switch plates. Remove drapes and curtain rods, and push

furniture to the middle of the room. Fill any nail holes with interior spackle.

3. Mask, using painter's tape, anything that you don't want painted, such as the ceiling, crown molding, baseboards, window casings and the floor.

4. Place drop cloths over your furniture and the floor. Secure the drop cloths with painter's tape.

5. Prime the walls if they are new and unpainted drywall or if you are covering oil-based paint with latex paint. For large wall areas, roll on the primer on in a "W" pattern, making overlapping strokes from side to side. For edges and corners, brush on the primer. Allow the primer to dry per the manufacturer's instructions.

6. Apply your paint to the walls in the same manner as the primer, making "W" strokes with the roller in large areas and using a paintbrush for edges and corners. Let the paint dry per the manufacturer's instructions. Apply a second or even a third coat as needed, until the paint covers completely, leaving no streaks or signs of the old paint.

7. Remove the painter's tape and drop cloths, wash the roller and paintbrush, move furniture back where it belongs, rehang curtain rods and draperies, and replace outlet covers and switch plates.
