Cool Painting Ideas For A Boy'S Bedroom

Give your son the bedroom of his dreams.

When it comes to painting your son's bedroom, you want it to be parent-friendly but still cool for him. There are many ways that you could paint your son's bedroom, but one of the easiest ways to decide which to do is to determine what he likes or what his hobbies are. With those things in mind, you could make him a super cool bedroom that you'll both enjoy.

Movie Theme

Paint his room a dark blue or gray to resemble the inside of a movie theater. Purchase a red comforter or bedspread with red pillows along with one or two comfortable, red chairs-these will resemble the movie seats in a theater. Print out or purchase his favorite movie scenes or posters and have them framed. Hang these frames around the walls to decorate. If he doesn't have a headboard, print out various movie scenes or posters on 8x10 picture paper and frame them. Hang the many frames on the wall behind his bed as a cool headboard. Purchase a projection screen and projector (you can find inexpensive ones online). Set up the projection screen on one wall with the projector hooked to the ceiling. Then he can have his very own movie nights in his room.

Sports Theme

Paint your son's room in his favorite sports team's colors. Line the walls with pennants and posters of his favorite players. You can even purchase NCAA and professional sports bedsheets and bedspreads to match his room. You can also purchase the jersey of his favorite player and have it framed to hang on the wall. If you want to get really creative, paint his room like the arena of his favorite sport. For example, if his favorite sport is football, paint the room green and add the yard lines in white paint around the room.

Vinyl Wall Stickers

One cool and quick way to dress up any room is with vinyl wall stickers. Paint the room in whatever color is your son's favorite. Then, let him choose a different theme with the wall stickers. They are easy to put up and removable for when he outgrows them or wants something different. You can find anything from sports equipment and cars to animals, bugs, nautical themes and even inspirational quotes. It's an easy way to put something cool and new up on the walls without the hassle of repainting the walls when he needs a change.
