Redecorate A Teen Girls Bedroom

Redecorating a teen girl's bedroom can be a challenge. Since her room should be a haven where she can relax and entertain friends, it's important to discuss room preferences with her. Keep in mind she also needs adequate storage and possibly a study area.

1. Paint the walls. Paint is one of the easiest, least expensive ways to make a big change in the room. Neutral colors, such as off-white, buttery yellow, or taupe, can be brightened with colorful accessories and textiles.

2. Staining or painting her furniture is a budget-friendly and easy way to redecorate a teen girl's bedroom. Paint the furniture white or off-white for a tropical or cottage-style decor; darker stains can match a more exotic theme, such as a Moroccan.

3. Add new bedding to the room. Solid-colored sheets in the room's primary colors allow you to get creative with the comforter. Choose one that reflects the theme of the room; for example, for a bedroom with a tropical theme, choose a comforter with palm trees on it. Add throw pillows to the bed in colors that are complimentary to the comforter.

4. Create a study area if one is needed. A simple desk with adequate storage and work space can suffice. Consider a bookshelf and a bean bag chair near the desk.

5. Hang wall art. Create a picture wall with photos of her friends and family framed in the same color and frame style. On other walls in the room, hang prints related to the overall theme of the room. If the theme is tropical, hang pictures of shells, beach scenes and palm trees in white or light blue frames.
