Decorate A Pink Princess Bedroom

Treat a young girl to a princess-themed bedroom.

If you're looking for sweet and charming d cor ideas for a young girl's room, make her feel like royalty with a princess theme. Infuse the room with a soft pink color scheme accented by other pastel hues. Consider the girl's favorite Disney princess character when decorating the room for a personalized look. When creating a princess-themed bedroom on a budget, update furniture items you already own using paint and fabric, and purchase small d cor items, such as pillows and lampshades, that give you the most bang for your buck.

Instructions

1. Paint the bedroom with a soft pastel pink color to give the space an ethereal feel. Pick a bubblegum pink shade if you want something a little darker.

2. Choose princess-inspired bedding. Place a comforter featuring a Disney princess character, such as Cinderella, design on the bed. Pick a plain pink bedspread featuring a frothy lace details as an alternative. Enhance the bedding with whimsical princess crown-shaped throw pillows.

3. Hang a canopy, otherwise known as mosquito netting, over the bed to give the room an authentic princess style. Pick a pastel pink, lavender or white canopy. Allow the netting to drape around the sides of the bed.

4. Paint dark wood furniture white to lighten up the look. Brush a dresser, nightstand, desk and headboard set with white furniture paint for a coordinated look.

5. Decorate the walls. Hang a carriage-shaped mirror above the little girl's dresser. Place cartoon princess images in opulent gold frames.

6. Pick princess-inspired lighting elements. Decorate a nightstand or work desk with a lamp featuring a pink base and a gemstone-encrusted shade. Hang a crystal chandelier from the ceiling; look for a chandelier featuring acrylic beads instead of real crystal to save money.
