Make An Apartment Bathroom Look And Feel Larger

A common complaint of apartment dwellers is the small rooms in an apartment. Bathrooms are no exception. If you feel claustrophobic in your apartment bathroom and want to make it look and feel larger, read on. Your apartment bathroom can look and feel larger with a few easy to implement changes.

Instructions

1. Paint the walls a light color if you can. If you have permission to paint your bathroom walls, go for a light or pale paint color. Light colored walls will make the room appear both brighter and larger.

2. Consider a monochromatic color scheme in the bathroom. A monochromatic color scheme consists of varying shades of the same color. A color palette like this will make the bathroom appear more streamlined and larger at the same time. Consider purchasing towels and accessories that all have a similar color. Match the towels and accessories to your wall color if you can.

3. Clear the clutter off of the bathroom counters and other surfaces. Cluttered surfaces in a bathroom will make the bathroom appear much smaller than it actually is. Put your bathroom necessities in cabinets or drawers under the sink to clear off the counter. The more open space that you have in the bathroom, the larger the bathroom will look and feel.

4. Hang a mirror on the wall if you don't have one on the wall already. A mirror on the wall of any room makes the room look and feel larger.

5. Use bright lighting in your apartment bathroom. Rooms that have bright lighting look and feel larger. A dimly lit or dark room will look smaller. Change out the light bulbs in your apartment bathroom for higher wattage bulbs to make the room look larger.

6. Push the shower curtain completely to one side when the tub is not in use. Doing this will allow you to see into the bathtub when you walk into the bathroom, and this will make the bathroom look and feel larger.
