Decorate A Girly Bedroom

Decorate a Girly Bedroom

Decorating a frilly bedroom for a girl is a project that parents and girls can do together. Most girls love to shop and there are many places to find girly bedroom items. Department stores and discount stores have large sections devoted to bedroom linens and accessories. Enjoy this time sharing ideas for a girl's bedroom and create a bedroom designed around her favorite colors or theme.

Instructions

1. Mount 2 ceiling curtains rods above the bed. Drape sheer or lightweight fabric over the rods to create a canopy over the bed.

2. Use Cape Cod or Priscilla curtains for the windows. A ruffle is at the bottom and inside edge of the curtain. Draw the curtains to the sides of the window frame for a frilly window treatment.

3. Cover the bed with a pastel bedspread or a pastel colored floral print.

4. Add a dust ruffle to complement the bedspread. Select a dust ruffle with a full gathers to give a lot of fullness.

5. Use an assortment of pillows in colors and sizes for the bed. Choose pillows with ruffled or lace edges.

6. Use a wall border with ballerinas, flowers or kittens to decorate the wall. Hang some pictures to match the theme of the wall border.

7. Change the pulls on dressers with flowers or other whimsical figures. Changing pulls will give a dresser a new look.

8. Cover a wall with a fantasy mural. Murals attach to walls with wallpaper glue. A whole wall can be transformed quickly to display a castle, a field of butterflies and much more.
