Decorate If You Have Green Walls & Dark Brown Bedroom Furniture

A dark wood bed can too easily look gloomy if not decorated correctly.

The color scheme of your bedroom furniture needs to be both soothing and relaxing and in colors that you like. Having green walls and dark brown bedroom furniture indicates that you have a solid decor foundation already in place. Brown and green are strong nature colors that complement each other perfectly. Sometimes dark brown and green can make a room look too dark and gloomy, but you can prevent this by decorating the rest of the room strategically.

Instructions

1. Install wallpaper on the wall behind the bed. The wallpaper should have a pattern and three dominant colors: dark brown, green and cream. The cream will help to lighten the space and break up the strict monotony of just green and brown. Plus, the pattern of the wallpaper will give the space a greater sense of dynamism.

2. Add sheets, linens and throw pillows that are in shades of light green, dark green, cream and light brown. You want to steer clear of dark brown bedding for the bed, as it can make the entire bed look too dark and gloomy. Lighter linens will highlight the wood structure and form.

3. Hang a mirror framed in creamy blond wood opposite each window in the room to create a greater sense of light and space.

4. Install hardwood flooring in the room. Because the brown and green already create such a strong look evocative of nature, hardwood flooring will help complete that appearance.

5. Add a soft, cream throw rug beside the bed. The rug will keep the room looking bright and enhance the sense of coziness.

6. Add an upholstered armchair and ottoman in a cream or light green. If possible, find a pattern that matches the pattern of your wallpaper. Place the armchair and ottoman in the corner and add an accent table and lamp beside them to create a cozy reading corner.
