Clean A Bathroom With Ajax & Clorox

Get your bathroom sparkling clean with products like Ajax and Clorox.


Ajax and Clorox are brand names for a variety of cleaning products. But, Ajax's Powder and Clorox's bleach have been used by generations of people for a number of cleaning jobs, including bathrooms. Ajax powder, composed of calcium and sodium carbonate, is a mild abrasive cleanser good for removing soap scum and grime. Clorox bleach removes stains, mold and mildew, but it's also an effective disinfectant capable of killing infectious bacteria and viruses. Knowing clean a bathroom with these products will make that room more pleasant and hygienic for you and your whole family.


Instructions


Ajax


1. Remove all toiletries such as shampoo, hairspray and soap from the areas you are cleaning. Wet the bathtub, sink and toilet both inside and out with water. Sprinkle Ajax powder or put it directly on a damp sponge for a more controlled application to the areas.


2. Use a damp sponge to work Ajax in a circular motion to remove dirt, grime and soap scum. When cleaning the toilet, use a toilet wand and scrub inside the bowl and under the rim where deposits of lime or rust accumulate.








3. Rinse the areas well, using clear water and fresh sponges or rags to help clean it away. It may take several attempts until all residue is gone. Pay close attention to crevices and corners where the Ajax powder may have accumulated.


Clorox


4. Dilute the Clorox by mixing three-quarter cup with 1 gallon of water. Pour some of the mixture into a small spray-bottle for controlled application. This is especially helpful for small crevices where mold and mildew thrive.


5. Wipe off bathroom surfaces with water and a sponge. Spray the Clorox solution in and around your bathtub, sink and toilet. Let it remain for 5 minutes, allowing proper time to disinfect and remove stains. Rinse with plain water and allow to air-dry.


6. Remove rugs and other objects from the bathroom floor and sweep or vacuum it clean. Pre-clean the floor by wiping with water and a mop. Fill a one-gallon bucket with three-quarter cup of Clorox and water. Dip the mop into the bucket and ring out the excess. Wipe the bathroom floor in sections. Wait 5 minutes and repeat the process using a clean mop and plain water to rinse the floor. Allow it to dry.
