Cool Bedroom Paint Colors

Cool colors include green, blue and purple.

Cool colors are those colors on the color wheel opposite red, orange and yellow. Cool colors are generally refreshing but lacking some of the glaring intensity of the warmer colors. When painting a bedroom, feel free to use the brighter colors that present real personality. After all, this is your personal space. Pick something that you love and that shows off who you are.

Lime Green

You have to really like lime green to want to put it on your walls. All the same, it's so bold and fresh, it really makes a statement about you. It's necessary to match this particular color to the furniture, the curtains and other room accessories. Maintaining a limited palette allows you to pull this look off without creating visual overload in the room. Lime green and white make a good combination, so white furniture looks fabulous against lime green paint. By breaking up the color on the walls with white shelves, or by installing white paneling in the lower half of the wall, the green becomes less overwhelming.

Sky Blue

Sky blue, a light to medium shade of cool blue, brings cheer and personality to a room. This color works well with other shades of blue or when combined with honey-colored hardwood floors and white trim. Sky blue is a flexible paint color with a contemporary attitude that is sophisticated but relaxed, excellent for any child or adult bedroom.

Deep Fuchsia

Fuchsia is basically a pink color, but deep fuchsia has a dusty-gray quality that makes it closer to a desaturated blue-violet. This feminine and exciting color, when paired with shades of gray, becomes regal but recessive and peaceful, making the bedroom the perfect place to relax at night.
