Free-standing vanities work in a variety of bathroom decors.
Freestanding vanities are a logical choice when you're remodeling a bathroom. Installation is easier than a suspended vanity, because it's not necessary to provide structural support to the vanity. It is important, however, to secure the vanity to the wall so it doesn't move once the plumbing is connected. Ensuring you have a sturdy and strong connection will take only a few moments and shouldn't be neglected as you complete your job.
Instructions
1. Place the vanity in position against the wall. Open the doors underneath the vanity. Look along the upper back wall for several pre-drilled . Mark the position of the screw holes onto the wall with a pencil. Move the vanity back out from the wall.
2. Drill a hole in each of the marked locations. Insert a hollow wall anchor into the wall at each of the spots you've drilled.
3. Slide the vanity back in place. Insert a screw in each of the vanity's . Tighten the screws until they catch the wall anchors, then tighten them until the screw heads are tight against the back inside of the vanity.
