Crisp, clean pure white cotton sheets
If you want a clean, pristine look for your bedroom, go white. The effect of an all white room can be dream-inspiring regardless of your decorating style. Whether you choose a traditional, shabby chic, French, Italian, country, rustic or modern style of furnishings, you can use the white look with any style.
Instructions
Paint
1. If you want to go all white in the bedroom, give the walls a fresh coat of sparkling white paint. There are hundreds of shades of white, so take your time to determine which shade suits you best. Some shades of white paint will have a green or blue tint, some grey and some even have degrees of brown or black.
2. If you have dark furniture, you could either paint it white or use a whitewash stain to lighten the surfaces. Your furniture could also remain dark, which provides a contrast to the stark white of the rest of the room. Consider a crisp white runner to top off a dark dresser or chest of drawers.
3. Since the bed is usually the focal point of the bedroom, dress it well in white cotton linens. To break the monotony of white, use white lace or white embroidery on comforters, pillows and bed linens. Add a dash of a brighter, alternate color to accentuate the white. One of the benefits of using all white linens is that they bleach easily to retain their brightness.
4. Hang some airy white cotton or linen curtains to continue the flow throughout the room. If your window provides direct sunlight, add some white plantation shutters to block the sun and add privacy when required.
5. Accessorize with a white chair or night stands. Add some crystal lamps or chandelier to the room to add a dash of elegance. Enhance the room and space with a white mirror on the wall. Use white shelving to display a collection of seashells or milk glass objects. Use black and white photography to decorate, or buy art in white and pastels to finish the room.
