Bedroom Remodel Ideas With A Tv

A television, like this one, in your bedroom can be hidden from view.

A modern fixture of many bedrooms, a television can be incorporated into your bedroom remodeling project in a number of ways, and depending on your preferences, it doesn't even have to be seen. Whether you want to watch the news every night or are simply hoping for a cozy spot to curl up for a weekend movie night with your significant other, adding a television to your bedroom may be just the finishing touch you're seeking.

Cabinets

One of the most common ways to hide a television in the bedroom, cabinets can be purchased in a variety of sizes to hold your television. Pick one with a bit of detail to create a visual focal point for your room, or create a built-in cabinet to hide your television, DVD player and other accessories in the wall to save floor space. But, before you build or buy a cabinet, be sure to measure your television, each accessory and the cabinet to make sure each item will fit inside.

Mounts and Arms

A popular option for televisions in any space is to mount the television on a wall mount or a type of arm. If you already own a large flat-screen and don't mind the look, think about simply mounting it to the wall. If a smaller television for basic news viewing is what you seek, try installing a metal arm on the wall beside your bed. If hiding your television is your ultimate goal, install the arm in such a manner that the television will fold back into a cabinet or set of bookshelves.

Simple Style

If your television is smaller, it can be set on a simple piece of furniture, such as a dresser or cabinet, but keep it simple. Electronic components, like DVD players, should be part of the television itself or slim models to keep the clutter to a minimum. To keep a simple style, limit the number of components, including cable boxes and DVD players, you have in the bedroom.

Unusual Hiding Places

If you think televisions look ugly or just don't want to see the television all the time, you can hide your bedroom television through some creative means. Televisions placed inside a built-in hiding place in the wall can be covered by a hanging painting, mirror or sliding wall panel. If moving an item sounds like too much work, think about putting your television behind a translucent mirror. When the television is off, the mirror will simply look like a mirror, but when the television is on, you'll be able to see the image through the mirror.
