Remodel A Tiny Bathroom

Remodeling a bathroom is one of the best ways to update your home and increase its resale value. Many older homes have tiny, dated bathrooms that feel small, cramped, and worn out. Although adding extra space to the current floor plan of a bathroom may not be possible, homeowners can do several things to make a small bathroom feel larger and more modern.

Instructions

1. Replace the existing toilet and sink with wall-mounted fixtures. Adding wall-mounted fixtures may be a bit of work to install (follow manufacturer instructions). On the other hand, wall-mounted fixtures can help clear up precious floor space and make the room seem much larger.

2. Install a shower. Homeowners should consider replacing their current tub with a shower to help save space.

3. Add mirrors to the room. Large mirrors can help small spaces feel much larger. Installing a large mirror over the sink is also cheaper than installing another window or skylight to make the space seem larger.

4. Paint the room a light color. Lighter colors will help open up a small and cramped space, while darker colors can make the space seem like a cave. Smart color choices on the walls or tile will have a large impact on the way a room feels.
