An undermount bathroom sink is attractive as well as functional. It adds a nice decorative touch to the bathroom without going overboard; it gives a more modern but unobtrusive appearance. This type of sink and countertop setup is easy to clean, since you can wipe any dirt and debris directly into the sink. The installation is relatively easy but does require some patience. Follow instructions carefully, as an improperly installed undermount sink could fall from the weight of the water.
Instructions
1. Place the bathroom counter upside-down on a flat surface; you can reuse your old one if the hold is the proper size, or you can opt for a new one. Clean the underside well, using a sponge with soap and water; the counter should be free of all dust and dirt to ensure a good bond with the sink. Allow it to dry.
2. Squeeze a small amount of silicone caulk around the edge of the sink. If there is a special sealant that came with the sink, use that instead. Turn the sink over and lower it onto the opening in the countertop, positioning it carefully.
3. Clamp the sink
4. Install the countertop onto the vanity and hook up the plumbing. Put in your faucet and temperature knobs.
