Enjoy the privacy of a private dining room at one of Richmond's restaurants
Richmond, the capital of Virginia, has a variety of restaurants, making it simple to find an eatery with a private dining room in the city. Most restaurants have special menus to choose from for large groups, and some private rooms include equipment for business conferences.
American Food
Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Bar is part of a large chain with branches all over the U.S. The Richmond branch has three rooms that are suitable for private dining, the largest of which can accommodate up to 80 people. All are suitable for business events thanks to video-conferencing equipment. There are various menus to choose from, depending on whether you are hosting a dinner, lunch or cocktail party. The menus feature steaks and seafood dishes and consist of four courses. There is also a separate hors d'oeuvres menu that includes beef and chicken satay, mini tenderloin, mini crab cakes and other light bites. Bookbinders has been in existence since 1865. This downtown Richmond eatery has a choice of four private rooms, the smallest of which can host up to 14 people, while the largest can accommodate 68. There are four different menus to choose from, offering dishes such as blackened mahimahi with crab, and double-cut pork chop with shiitake mushroom gravy. The restaurant has an elegant d cor, with red brick walls, turn-of-the-century furnishings and soft lighting.
Romantic
The Melting Pot has a large private room that is fully equipped with audiovisual equipment, including two 48-inch flat-screen TVs. The room features simple d cor with elegant, low-hung lighting, ideal for intimate dates. There are various packages available for special events, such as birthdays and weddings, including flower arrangements and balloons. The Melting Pot specializes in fondue, hence the name; therefore, the party menus include fondues made with a variety of different cheeses as well as ingredients, such as spinach and Mexican herbs.
Family-Friendly
Shacklefords calls itself a neighborhood restaurant, and its family-friendly menu has kids' portions and daily specials. Shacklefords offers American food, such as steaks and seafood dishes. The banquet menu includes crab cakes, chicken marsala, fillet mignon and one vegetarian dish; however, employees are happy to make changes and additions as requested. The room has a flat-screen TV and DVD/VCR player, making it ideal for daytime business events.
Fine Dining
Acacia's sleek dining area and a menu that includes beef carpaccio, rabbit rillette, duck confit and scallops with gnocchi have earned it rave reviews in the "Richmond Times." The private room can host up to 35 guests. The decor is sleek and modern, with a wine room completely encased in glass and an exposed kitchen.
