Decorate A Master Bedroom In Blue

Enhance a master bedroom with blue bedding.

You can use blue decor to infuse a master bedroom with anything from elegance to whimsy. Choose a shade, such as mysterious midnight blue or beach-inspired turquoise, to reflect your personality and interests. Turn your master bedroom into a relaxing retreat using a soft blue. A blue decorating palette is versatile in that the hue coordinates with a wide range of colors, from traditional white to unexpected bright colors.

Instructions

1. Choose a blue shade with which to decorate the master bedroom. Pick classic navy blue to create a fresh nautical style, or a breezy light blue to give the space a Nantucket beach house appeal. Decide on an accent color in red or yellow shades to enhance the blue decor.

2. Paint the master bedroom walls. Brush on crisp white paint to contrast with dark navy blue bedding and d cor elements. Choose a soft sand-inspired paint to complement lighter blues.

3. Decorate the bed with blue textiles. Choose a navy blue comforter in a nautical-themed bedroom and accent it with red and white anchor-shaped decorative pillows. Pick a light blue handmade quilt featuring white seashell and sand dollar patterns for a Nantucket-inspired space. Place a white woven cotton blanket at the foot of the bed to add a casual touch.

4. Enhance the bedroom with blue decorative accents. Set a lamp featuring a wooden lighthouse-shaped base and navy blue shade on a bedside table to add maritime appeal. Hang blue beach glass-inspired wall sconces on either side of the bed for a seaside style.

5. Add a pop of contrasting color to the decor scheme. Accent a navy blue-hued room with red curtains and a matching floor rug. Enhance a space decked out in turquoise with gauzy, sunny yellow curtains and a raffia rug.
