Repair A Price Pfister Bathroom Faucet

Simple Price Pfister two-handle faucet repair.


Nothing wastes more water than a dripping faucet. Not repairing it is just like pouring money down the drain. Price Pfister faucets are some of the best on the market, but nothing lasts forever. Learning repair a two-handle Price Pfister bathroom faucet is quick and easy. The whole project should only take a novice an hour to complete. A handful of common household tools and concise instruction is all you need to get started.


Instructions


1. Turn off the water. Under the bathroom sink are hot- and cold-water shut-off valves. Turn the shut-off valve handles to the right until they stop.


2. Open both handles on the faucet to relieve any left-over water pressure.


3. Remove the handle fasteners. Use a 3/32-inch Allen key to remove the fasteners. The fasteners are inside a small opening on the back side of the each faucet handle. Turn the fasteners counterclockwise to remove.


4. Lift each handle off the faucet and set aside. If the handle is difficult to remove, slowly work it back and forth while lifting.








5. Unscrew each faucet cartridge with an adjustable wrench turning them to the left.


6. Clean the inside of each cartridge barrel with a rag and inspect with flashlight. The bottom of the barrels should be perfectly flat; if scarring is evident, replace the faucet.


7. Screw in your new Price Pfister two-handle cartridge stems by hand, then secure with your adjustable wrench.


8. Set the lever handles on the cartridge stems.


9. Secure each handle with a fastener. If the handle does not close in the proper position, loosen the fastener and adjust the handle position.


10. Turn the water on to the hot and cold sides of the faucet. Inspect for leaks around the cartridges and handles.
