Teenagers can be very particular about their likes and interests, especially when it comes to decorating their bedrooms. The next time you decide to give your teen's bedroom a makeover, consider her personality and what you can do to make the bedroom cute and exciting. 1. Choose a color scheme for the bedroom. Take some input from your teen and let her pick out the wall color. Follow the same color scheme for the entire bedroom, from the sheets, curtains, paint and furniture. Find colors that will match and contrast nicely with one another.


2. Pick a theme. For a boy, pick his favorite sports team and build a room around that central idea with sheets, curtains and posters. If your child is into music, find a few concert posters or posters of the teen's favorite band.


3. Place a colorful round area rug at the base of the bed to add a cozy element to the room decor. Purchase a bean bag for lounging while teens watch television. Hang some framed photos of your teen and her friends to transform an ordinary room into a cute and welcoming space.
