Create a Disney princess room for your little princess.
If your child likes Disney princesses, such as Jasmine, Belle or Cinderella, you're in luck. Princesses are one of the easiest bedroom themes to decorate since there is a plethora of merchandise and other items you can use in the bedroom. Incorporate just a few actual Disney princess items though since you're child may soon outgrow that particular theme.
Bedding
Purchase a Disney princess themed or another princess themed bedding set, or create your own princess bedding. Buy a frilly, lacy comforter and pillow sham, which your child may not outgrow as quickly. Install a hanging plant hook above the bed, and buy a princess net. Toss some white, pink or lavender throw pillows to give the bed a plush, royal feel.
Walls
Purchase Disney princess wall decals or appliques that peel on and off and can be taken down as your child outgrows the Disney princess theme. Paint walls a soft feminine color, such as light pink or purple or a color repeated on the wall decals or other princess accessories. You can also have a mural painted of your child's favorite princess castle as an accent wall. Stencil phrases on the wall or buy decals that say things like, "Once a upon a time" or "There once was a princess." Hang framed photographs of real palaces and castles. Hang lacy, sheen or curtains with eyelets as window treatments.
Flooring
Add a Disney princess throw rug or another princess themed rug, such as a princess crown. On the other hand, purchase shag throw rugs or bonded remnants from a carpet store that are a couple shades darker than the wall paint color. Your child will most likely not outgrow these as quickly.
Accessories
Set a princess themed lamp or one with a frilly or tasseled shade on the nightstand or dresser. Store jewelry in a musical jewelry box fit for a princess. Take a picture of your child dressed up in her favorite princess costume, and frame it to set next to her bed. Purchase a Disney princess snow globe and a couple other princess accessories to add the finishing touches to a Disney princess themed bedroom.
